Frequently Asked Questions
Laser hair removal works by targeting hair follicles with low-level laser light. The laser’s energy follows individual hairs to the root, damaging the follicle and impeding or destroying its ability to regrow hair without targeting the skin itself.
Most patients require more than one treatment to accomplish their goals. However, our patients love the results they get after only a few treatments.
We ask you to avoid sun exposure for a couple of weeks prior to your treatment. Because exposing the skin to the sun increases sensitivity and pigmentation, it may reduce the effectiveness of the treatment.
Based on the natural growth cycle of body hair, you will not see the full effects of your treatment for as long as six months to one year. However, many patients remain permanently hair-free in the treated area.
Patients also report that, for the small percentage of hair that may return, growth is much less coarse and dense. And follow-up treatments can help banish any final hairs that remain.
Although anyone can have this treatment, it can be more successful for patients with darker hair.
Laser treatments work by targeting pigment in the hair strand. Lighter colored hair has less pigment, reducing the effectiveness of the procedure. If you have very light hair or you’re substantially gray, this may not be the best approach for removing unwanted hair. The good news is that, in the areas you may be most interested in having treatment, hair tends to be darker than on the head, where it is regularly exposed to the sun. If your skin is darkened from sun exposure, talk to a member of the Beauty Now team to determine whether this procedure is right for you.
Laser Hair removal costs can vary based on which body part(s) you wish to have treated. Bikini areas are lower cost than say treating the entire back.
Package prices average from $300-$2000. Plus, our Laser Hair Removal patients are eligible for special discount pricing on Dysport™, Botox™, Juvederm™, and other cosmetic treatments.
